Cooperative Commitment

Participation in our cooperative community is required for all families and is designed to be easily manageable within the mix of everyday family life:

• Classroom Participation

  • Parents/guardians volunteer in the classroom approximately every 3-5 weeks, depending upon the size of the class.

  • Note: Reduced classroom participation is available to families for whom a regular participation schedule would be difficult to maintain.  Reduced classroom participation status will be given at the discretion of the Director and the Board.

• Special Job

  • Each family will commit to one or two volunteer jobs during the course of the school year. There are a broad range of potential jobs - the parent handbook provides more details.

• Cleaning Day

  • Families also participate in one school cleaning day per year

• Annual Beach Bash Fundraiser

  • All families participate in the annual fundraiser, the Beach Bash. Funds raised from the Beach Bash help support enrichment programs for both classes along with our scholarship fund for families that need financial assistance.

• Parent Meetings

  • Each family is required to attend monthly parent meetings.
